Paris Lecture
PARIS – Brantford-Brant Federal NDP Candidate Marc Laferriere and Lucas Duguid of Octopus Red headlined the Paris Lectures this month – one in a series of lectures that take place in Paris Ontario looking at issues of creativity and entrepreneurship.

The topic of this event was on utilizing creativity and small business towards the goal of community development.

Laferriere and Duguid co-founded The Brant Advocate – a not-newspaper that shared over 800 local stories through crowd sourcing their content over 3 years of publication. They have also co-produced 2 seasons of Advocate Television as well as a podcast and successful local concerts and events.

The Paris Lectures is a regular series of creative workshops and meet-ups in Paris, Ontario. Organized by Cassie McDaniel and Mark Staplehurst (photo credit).

The event which was the first of the campaign was a sellout and took place at Stillwaters Plate & Pour.
