Local Candidate Marc Laferriere and Halifax New Democrat MP and Health Critic Megan Leslie (Maclean’s 2009 Rookie MP of The Year) will meet area residents, and address concerns regarding the state of our health care system and other issues of the day.
During the morning hours Ms. Leslie and Mr. Laferriere will be meeting and learning from local health care stakeholders such as the Aboriginal Health Centre, PSW Canada / Ontario Personal Support Workers Association, and the Association of Ontario Health Centres among others.
In the afternoon they will be hearing your concerns about our Health Care System.
Soaring drug costs, an aging population, difficulty in attracting & retaining skilled health professionals, and issues unique to Brant riding will be explored.
What needs to be done to improve health care delivery for seniors in Brant?
How can ballooning costs be managed without sacrificing critical care?
What about senior specific services?
These and other health system concerns will be addressed at a public meeting on August 19th 2010 at 2:30 pm at the Seniors Resource Centre.
This event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
