Hello Brant NDP Members and those interested in joining,

I’m very pleased to remind Brant NDP members and prospective members about the Brant NDP General Meeting on February 18th, 2012 from 2-4pm at the Brantford & District Labour Centre at 1100 Clarence St South on the 2nd Floor.

Why that date?  An excellent question.

February 18th is the last day for you to become an NDP member eligible to vote in the upcoming federal leadership contest. We want as many people from our riding to have their say as to who the next leader of the official opposition will be, who will lead the NDP in the 2015 election and who, with your support could become Canada’s next prime minister.

It’s an exciting time to be a New Democrat and we want as many people as possible to join us.

Yes you can get your membership online too (just click here) if you prefer to pay with a credit card but for those without credit cards or who prefer an in person transaction this Brant NDP General Meeting is the perfect opportunity to do so.

Brant will be a hotbed of NDP leadership candidate activity in the coming weeks. At least 3 major NDP leadership candidate visits will be announced at the General Meeting and we encourage you to join the debate about who will be best suited to lead the party in the coming years.  But don’t just join the debate, join the party and excercise your right to vote!

This general meeting will also have information on the last federal and provincial elections as told by the candidates themselves, the growing Brant Young NDP and we will be electing delegates for the Ontario NDP Provincial Council.

On top of all that we’ve secured an incredible guest the Ontario NDP MPP for Hamilton Mountain Monique Taylor.

Read a bit more about Monique below and click on the image to access the Facebook event page.

I would be terribly remiss if I didn’t say a BIG THANK YOU to our incredible crew of volunteers who have done the organizing, inviting, calling, mailing, prepping and even the baking to make this event a success.

Hope to see you there!
