I was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Trooper Larry Rudd today. Trooper Rudd died when an improvised explosive device detonated during a security operation 20 km southwest of Kandahar City.
Trooper Rudd was part of the Royal Canadian Dragoons and served with the 1st Battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment. He was only 26 years old.
On behalf of the the Brant Riding Association of the New Democratic Party, I would like to extend my sincere sympathies to Trooper Rudd’s family, friends and colleagues in Brantford and abroad. Trooper Rudd will be remembered for his selflessness, hard work and dedication in all he did.
